Europe: Florence to Venice

Next Stop is Venice

From Florence we took a train to Venice where we dreamed of sitting on a Gondola along a small canal. The weather was nice at the beginning of September.

We booked a hostel (B&B something...) The price was high compared to hostels in other cities but I guess it's normal price in Venice. We followed the directions given on the internet but still it was hard to find since there are so many corners and all canals look the same with small bridges. We took a boat to the station where our hostel was located.

Gondola

Gondola ride is quite expensive. It costs about 80 euros for 40 minutes depends on the services. We were just 2 people so paying 40 each was still expensive so if the price bothers you, don't do it but if it doesn't, make sure you have a clear communication with the gondolier. Someone says that a gondola ride is like a hansom cap ride in New York City: It can be a delightful experience, but only if you're able to forget the price and focus on the scenery.

Just before we decided to go back there is a boat similar to gondolas but it's just for crossing the river. That's good enough for us :) Paying only a euro and you can take a photo like you are sitting on a gondola with a handsome gondolier...hahaha so whoever is bothered by the price of the real gondola, it's not so bad to try this kinda of gondola also :D

With the sunset in the evening, you can just sit down and chill out beside a river where you can see boats and Gondolas.

It's kinda interesting when you have to travel from one place to another place by boat. I would say Venice is one of the best places to visit.

During the day there are many places to walk around. With the unique constructions style in Venice, it's a bit hard to remember where things were but you will never get bored walking and taking pictures.
