Europe: Switzerland

Next stop is Switzerland!

We decided to go to the largest city in Switzerland, Zurich.

We stayed at Youth Hostel which was very comfortable, had good facilities and breakfast but the location is hard to find and a bit far from the city. You have to take tram over 20 minutes to get there and it was very dark at night on the way back to the hostel.

We spent only 2 days in Zurich. Pretty much just walking and chilling. The weather was really nice. The buildings and shops were great. The main shopping area is close to the main station (Hauptbahnhof), Bahnhofstrasse which is one of the most beautiful shopping streets in Europe. Here you can find elegant boutiques, department stores and specialist shops with high quality goods.

In the evening, we felt like going to the lake and take a boat tour so we could lay eyes on the nice skyline of Zurich. The tour was very nice and not too expensive.

After the tour we went to search for swiss fondue. It's one of the must things to do in Switzerland. We walked along a small street full with restaurants at night and finally found the place where we wanted to try. We ordered normal cheese fondue. The first bite was a bit weird but after a while it tastes so good! and I just wanted to have again and again but I guess it's kinda expensive to spend around 20 euros each for fondue everyday - -"

I found out that stuffs in Switzerland are a bit expensive compare to other countries. From what I know it's the sixth most expensive cities in the world!

Besides being a business center and a shopping paradise. this city is also known for culture like old churches ( 'Grossmünster' and the 'Fraumünster' )

We spent the last day morning in Zurich with the new friends from the same hostel. It's nice getting to know people along the way then you can share your experience and learn about the others also :)
