Japan: Kobe

Trip to KOBE
April,2008
[OnE dAy tRiP iN KoBe] with Deta~Youna~Yan

After the conference in Osaka we took a one day trip to Kobe. From where we stayed took only 20 minutes to Kobe. If you start at Osaka station/Umeda station, it takes around 30 minutes to Sannomiya Station by JR. We arrived at Kobe around 10 in the morning. We were thinking about going to an information center but suddenly there was an old guy offered us a map and also gave directions. He was a volunteer staff in Kobe city, I guess. Since there are a lot of foreigners traveling there and he could speak English so that was a very good impression for the first time in Kobe.

We walked up to Kitano Shin Kobe Area. On the way there were many cute shops and hotels. After walking for a while you will reach Moegi House, Weathercock House and many other interesting places.

TEDDY BEAR Museum~

We walked down through a small road and found this Teddy Bear Museum. The owner was very nice to us and also gave us half price ticket discount :)
Inside the museum was amazing.

We could try on some cute accessories and take photos with all the Teddy bear as a background. The museum was not that big but trust me you could spend like hours in there.

After Kitano Area, we walked pass China Town on the way to the Harbor. It was nice taking some time walking there. It' not so big compare the one in Yokohama.

On the way to the Harbor, there is Kawasaki Good Times World which is an enterprise museum. Inside there are real products such as Shinkansen train, large helicopter or bike and the robots that do performances. The tower in the photo is the Port Tower.

The port tower which is the red tower on the left side.

Above is a photo of Villaggio Italia which is like a tour cruise in Kobe Bay. It costs 1000 yen for adult and 800 yen for student. You can also choose for 40 minutes ride or 60 minutes ride. If you don't like it, I think just sitting down somewhere next to the bay is the best way to spend your evening in Kobe :)
